15th Conference of the Spanish Association for Energy Economics

Energy decarbonisation. From words to action.

The Spanish Association for Energy Economics (AEEE) announces the celebration of the XV Annual AEEE Conference on January 29th-31st, 2020 at the University of Castilla-La Mancha. The Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of Toledo will host the most important academic and business conference on Energy Economics in Spain.

The AEEE is the Spanish division of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) and, among its activities, promotes the organisation of an annual conference on Energy Economics. The AEEE Conference intends to promote links between the university, regulators and companies with interests in areas such as Energy Economics, Environment and Climate Change. In this fifteenth edition, the main theme of the Conference is “Energy Decarbonisation. From words to action”. Challenges faced by the energy sector in the coming years both at a national and European level are significant. The shift towards a more sustainable model arises as one of the main pillars on which ecological transition is sustained in order to face the struggle against climate change. The economic and industrial model arising from this transition must ensure not only environmental but also economic and social sustainability that helps to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

In this context, the Conference offers academic participation through the presentation of papers in parallel and flash sessions, and also plenary lectures and a round table with business, social, political and academic representatives of the highest level.

This VX edition intends to be consistent with the topics covered in the sessions of the congress. For this reason, the organisation promotes actions that try to ensure this event’s sustainability in a broad sense. Specifically, the assessment of the carbon footprint of the congress is proposed, along with its compensation through personal contributions of the participants and the institutions involved in its organisation. Furthermore, all coffee breaks, lunches and dinners will be based on healthy and environmentally-committed dietary guidelines.
